Lombard street

Naar aanleiding van de post van Koen over Montagne De Bueren in Luik, kwam ik op het idee wat te posten over een andere helling. In San Fransisco. Lombard Street, hier wordt vaak over gezegd dat het de straat is met de meeste bochten. Het is er erg mooi aangelegd.

After the post of Koen about Montagne De Bueren in Luik (Belgium), I though about a photo I made during my stay in San Fransisco. This is Lombard Street, some people say that it is the street with the most turns in the world. I made the photo because of the nice borders. 

Pentagon kiest Airbus

Niet dit vliegtuig (de KC-767) zal het nieuwe vliegtuig worden van de Amerikaanse luchtmacht, maar de KC-30 van Northrop-EADS zal het worden. Dit is zeer opmerkelijk omdat het Pentagon altijd met vliegtuigen van Amerikaanse bodem heeft gevlogen. De presidentskanidaten Barack Obama en Clinton hebben verbaasd gereageerd.
The Pentagon has made a choice for the new fuel airplanes of the U.S. Air Force. The plane I’ve showed above is the KC-767 from Boeing. This is not the new planes for the Air Force. The KC-30 should be the new arrival in the Air Force. The KC-30 is from Northrop-EADS. The Presidential candidates Obama and Clinton reacted surprised they think the KC-767 is the better choice for the Air Force.

Excalibur

Weer een foto vanuit Las Vegas, dit keer het hotel Excalibur. Met als thema natuurlijk King Arthur. De meestse kennen het verhaal van het zwaard (Excalibur) misschien wel. Dit werd tijdens een veldslag is een rots/steen gestoken en die gene die het er weer uit kreeg zou koning van Engeland worden. Dit werd met de hulp van Merlijn King Arthur.

Een erg leuk hotel van de buitenkant, maar van binnen erg saai.

And there’s another photo out of Las Vegas. This time the hotel Excalibur, the theme of the hotel is off course King Arthur. Most of you know the story of the sword (Excalibur), the sword was put into a stone and the person how pulled the sword out of the stone became the king of England.

The hotel is very nice outside but inside it is a bit boring.

Las Vegas Boulevard

Dit is dus de beroemde Strip, Las Vegas Boulevard is de straat waar je moet zijn in Las Vegas. Hier liggen alle grote casino’s . En jullie zien het goed, je ziet de Eiffeltoren. Ze hebben deze nagebouwd bij het hotel Paris.

This is the famous Strip, Las Vegas Boulevard is the place to be in Las Vegas. All the mayor hotels in the city are on the boulevard. You even see the Eiffel Tower, they build a small one at the Paris hotel.

MGM Grand

Door de vele leuke reactie op Luxor heb ik deze foto geplaatst. Dit is de MGM Grand, het grootste hotel ter wereld en het grootste casino van Las Vegas. Het thema van dit hotel is, zoals de naam al zegt MGM en de films er van.  De grote leeuw op de foto is het symbool van de maatschappij.

Because of the nice reactions on Luxor, I placed this photo. This is the MGM Grand, the largest hotel in the world and the biggest casino in Las Vegas. The theme of this hotel is, according to the name MGM and the movies of them. The big lion on the photo is the symbol of MGM.

Luxor

Met de reis door de Verenigde Staten kan je Las Vegas niet vergeten natuurlijk.  Dit was ons hotel, Luxor, met het thema Egypte.

When you are on holidya in the United States you cannot forget Las Vegas. This was our hotel, Luxor, with Egypt as theme.

San Diego Skyline

De eerste stad waar we in de States waren was San Diego, een stad die veel vergeten wordt. Het is een prachtige stad met veel groen en weinig criminaliteit. Leuke bezienswaardigeheden zijn Sea World en de wijk Gaslamp.

Deze foto is gemaakt aan de andere kant van de baai, de stad Coronado. Het is een klein parkje waar je een perfect uitzicht hebt op de hele skyline. Verder heb je hier ook een goed uitzicht op de marinehaven aldaar. Het is één van de grootste van de Verenigde Staten en de thuisbasis van het bekende vliegdekschip de Nimitz.

Last summer I was in the United Sates on the east coast. San Diego was the first city I’ve visited. I’ve made this photo on the otherside of the bay. In the city of Coronado. In a small park with a perfect view over the San Diego Skyline.

Death Valley

Nederland onder de zeespiegel, dit ligt pas onder de zeespiegel. 160 meter namelijk en dan nog de heetste plek op aarde zijn. Dit is Death Valley, de gemiddelde temperatuur ligt ongeveer op de 55 graden. 

Vroeger was dit een binnenzee die is op gedroogt. Hierdoor heb je hier nu deze zoutvlakte. Het wordt devil’s golf course genoemt omdat de zoutkristalen zo scherp zijn dat het je open kan snijden.

Zoals je ziet op de foto is er niets dat leeft hier. Er is een oase met een hotel erin. Ga je naar Death Valley ga dan naar dit hotel.

Victoriaanse huizen

Inderdaad, weer een foto uit San Francisco. Dit zijn de beroemde victoriaanse huizen.

De foto lijkt enorm scheef maar dat komt doordat bijna alle wegen in San Francisco enorm schuin lopen.

Bryce canyon

Ook vandaag weer een foto van mijn reis door de Verenigde Staten. Dit is Bryce Canyon. Lijkt erg op de Grand canyon, maar is wat kleiner. Maar niet minder mooi. Ga je naar deze kant van dit land ga dan ook zeker hier langs. Veel mensen vergeten namelijk deze geweldige plek.
